Monique Clare has played mountaintop sunrise concerts, taught cello in Afghanistan and traveled the world diving into folklore treasure troves.
As the 2017 Folk Alliance Australia Young Artist of the Year Monique broke out as a solo artist, released her debut solo EP, By The Stars, and went on to tour across Australia, including performances at Woodford Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Music Festival and Cygnet Folk Festival.
With a reputation gained as one of the nation’s most exciting emerging folk cellists Monique has immersing herself in folk traditions and contemporary classical music. Her years of music training coupled with a brilliantly creative mind delivers a performance that is stunning to fans of any music genre.
Her performance on stage has been described as “Intimate and soaring – both sonically and lyrically, and her stage presence is pure joy”.
