ROGER FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE! Film + Live music by Gary Daley Quintet

Mechanics Institute Lawson 284 Great Western Highway, Lawson (Enter near 18 Yileena Ave)

Join us in celebrating the legacy of Roger Frampton (1948–2000), a visionary jazz musician who transformed the landscape of Australian improvised music. This special tribute features the premiere of Roger Frampton Comes Alive!—a documentary by Dr Emily Rytmeister—followed by a live performance from the Gary Daley Quintet, bringing Frampton’s powerful compositions back to life.

Sunday Session of live music after 2024 AGM

The Friends of the Mechanics Institute Lawson Inc holds its 2024 Annual General Meeting at the Mechanics Institute, 284 Great Western Highway Lawson on Sunday 24 November 2024. The AGM will run between 3-4 pm and is open to FOTMIL members and the public.

After the meeting there will be a variety of performances of music, dance and animated film including –
John Sheehy- classical guitar and with Graeme Hall, flute ,
Chris Venn- songwriter/piano.
Rinni- performing Indian traditional dance and Bollywood dance.
Martijn Hadders And Kate Hadders- guitar, mandolin and cello.
Gaines Post -songwriter/Guitar /flute
Belle Butler -a multi-disciplinary artist - songwriter/musician, writer and visual experimenter- Quick- a stop motion animation created by Belle from leaves, to accompany her single by the same title, recently won Best Animation in this year’s Clipped Australian Music Video Awards.
